self love around the web

Being that last week was a week for lovers, I read a lot of stuff about self love. With my new hobby, I can’t help but jump on the bandwagon. Whatever it is you do to take care of yourself … you just have to. We all do.

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that one of the first things I read at the beginning of last week was one about self hatred. This post really had me thinking about how I take care of myself. And more importantly, the ways I do not. It’s an ugly truth, but for me, being aware of it is a step in the right direction.

enough hate, bring on the love

If you haven’t been reading the All You Need series over on Ophelias Webb, you really should catch up. But this particular post by Grace Boyle should be deemed unmissable. Remember to take care of yourself, physically and emotionally.

  • I absolutely LOVED Grace's post - and Elisa's whole series in general. Awesome reference/shout-out.
  • For reals. I need to quit lurking on Elisa's blog/amazing series and start commenting. It's so real and feel-good.
  • Do it! Don't lurk! :) (And she's a doll)
  • Yes! Comment! Interact! Introduce yourself! I LOVE new visitors! Thanks for the shout-out and I'm glad you are enjoying the series. Grace's post definitely hit a chord with a lot of people reading the series. It's the "easiest" love to practice yet the one we forget the most.
  • Becca, thanks for including my post from Elisa's series. I'm happy to hear you like it. We all need a little self-love. I do a lot of yoga and they sometimes say "set an intention for today or your practice, it can be a person, thought, ideas, etc." this year, I've set out to set the intention of self-love. It can be pretty powerful. In turn, I find myself happier, which can make for (someday) a powerful relationship that is healthy.

Hope you're lovin on yourself :)
  • Thank YOU for writing it. I love the encouragement I get from all the awesome bloggers I've connected with. I do not mind at all being reminded to love on and take care of myself.
